4 hotel leaders answerIsaac J. Collazo, Emmanuel Dissez, Sophie Richard and Théodore BoschmansPublished The RevPAR index, or RGI, compares a hotel's RevPAR with its competitive set: 100 means a fair share, and above 100 means the hotel takes more than its share. Isaac J. Collazo of STR says getting a fair share of rooms revenue is still the biggest metric people watch. Emmanuel Dissez grew a Barcelona hotel's RGI from 64 to 108, and Sophie Richard took a Brussels hotel from 81 to 110. Théodore Boschmans, a hotel broker, uses such comparisons to see whether a hotel beats its competition.

“Using this information, we brokers can see is this hotel currently over performing its competition or the market or underperforming its competition markets.”
