BWH Hotels has announced a company-wide transformation that brings more than 4,000 hotels and 18 brands in 100 countries under a single umbrella brand, WorldHotels, and one loyalty programme, according to a release issued from Phoenix on 27 October 2026.
The company said the move is based on consumer research showing that many travellers know only part of its portfolio, which spans luxury, boutique, upscale, extended-stay and economy hotels. Individual hotel identities and flags will remain unchanged. "WorldHotels gives us a clearer way to tell our story," said Larry Cuculic, president and CEO of WorldHotels, adding that the change should help hoteliers compete globally while keeping their independence.
At the centre of the change is WorldHotels Rewards, which combines Best Western Rewards and the existing WorldHotels Rewards into one programme with 70 million members. It launches on 5 January 2027 with three simplified tiers, while keeping status transfer, member rates and points that do not expire. Further details are due on 16 November 2026.
The company also launched a new website and redesigned mobile app, built around a proprietary search platform drawing on more than 10,000 hours of insights gathered from hotel teams. WorldHotels said the aim is to strengthen direct guest relationships and increase direct booking opportunities for owners.
Luxury and upscale properties will now sit under WorldHotels Collection, with six categories: Luxury, Elite, Distinctive, Crafted, Backdrop and Residences. Ron Pohl, president of WorldHotels Collection, said the platform gives owners access to the commercial power, technology and demand drivers of a large network while keeping tailored local experiences.
